My Personal Style

So I got to thinking about Makeup Artists in general and then looking at the work they all do and realised many have personal style and this personal style certainly reflects in the work they do and I wanted to talk about my personal style.

I am a 38 years old and if honest I do not look it and I do have a little bit of help from time to time to delay those wrinkles.   I like to keep trendy and wear the latest style (within reason I don't want to look like mutton).  I have a very edgy haircut a bob with a very thick fringe in a chocolate brown shade but I occasionally add red/copper tones.

My go to makeup look has always been pretty much the same since I was a teenager.  I have very blue eyes and from an early age always knew they were my thing, and with having very blue eyes I know that adding dark colours to the eyes makes them look even bluer.  So I have always opted for chocolate brown shades with lots of black liner around the eye and into my waterline, sometimes on a night out I do add gold as again this is a lovely contrast to my eye colour.  I do not like clean looks on me, the smokier the better.  I think these days there is a lot of confusion to what a smoky eye is and for me its smudgy liner, and shadow that looks like dispersing smoke.

I wear foundation but I hate thick heavy foundation, I don't really suffer with acne or skin issues so for me a light to medium coverage is all I need as the only redness I have is around my nose and I like my freckles to show through.  I waiver between several foundations and I personally use MAC Studio Waterweight, its a new foundation to the range and I love it was blown away when I first used it as it looks like I have amazing skin.  I use Naked by Urban Decay and for a night out Illamasqua Skin Base.

I do not suit red lipstick at all, I have tried them all and I think they all look awful on me, so I keep my lips very simple using a nude lip gloss, I have several and not one particular favourite but the one I am using at the moment is by Laura Mercier.
